About Rebecca Erol

With a university background in genetics, I spent a number of years at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, as publications manager where I was able to feed my love of movement and beauty through my involvement with classical ballet.

I am now based in London as a freelance photographer, editor and garden designer. My recent projects include Istanbul Select (Travel Press Media Award Best Guidebok for 2011) and a book on Istanbul food, with a special emphasis on street food, which was published in Norway.

In 2006 I accompanied The Royal Ballet during their first-ever tour to the Aspendos Festival in Antalya, Turkey, photographing the dancers on and off-stage at the ancient amphitheatre. My life as a photographer was profiled on Turkish Channel 24 on their 'Living in Turkey' series that June.

My creative flower images are used in interior design projects around the world via Indigo Art.

With a Certificate in Garden Design from the English Gardeing School in Chelsea, I recently launched myself as a garden designer for the southeast London area both overhauling gardens and designing creative planting for my clients. I am also experimenting with growing herbs and vegetables for a market stall.
